Coisceim visit to Fethard Horse Country Experience
On Friday 22nd September some students from Coisceim with their SNAs and teachers visited Fethard Horse Country Experience located in The Tholsel, Main Street, Fethard. Here they were welcomed by Shannon Forrest and they explored the story of the horse and its role in Irish culture over 2000 years.
The experience was fully interactive and students were able to see the relationship between the people, the land and the horse revealing how they are all linked. They learned about The Myths, The History, The Landscape, The War Horse, The Farm Horse and The Race Horse. The highlight of the experience was the visit to the full size skeleton of Saddlers Wells on the top floor of the exhibition. This skeleton has been kindly donated to the exhibition by the Magnier Family, Coolmore Stud. The group finished with lovely refreshments in the cafe on the ground floor. A great day was had by all and they would highly recommend it to all.
